When you get into the family trip structure, it's beautiful when it's working right because you can't have a church without families. You know, so families make up the church and the church, like I say, is one unique family in and of itself. The family of God, spiritual, and so being in relation to the church, whatever affects families, and I'm talking about Christian families, affects the church. It has to because it's made up of families. And wherever you have people, you just have problems.

That's just the nature of it. Well, I think we need to understand certain jurisdictions in the family structure you you have your home and you function in that home of trusting in a biblical way as head of the home, instructing your home and the things of God and this leadership type structure that God has so put in. Unless there's sinfulness going on in the home That's when you have the leadership of the church coming to deal with the situation at home and that's one of the beauties of being members of a local church.

How are the church and family related?

Clarence Simmons explains in this video that the church and family relationship is beautiful when it works right. You can't have a church without families. Whatever affects a family can also affect the church because the church is made up of families.

In regards to jurisdiction, each father of a family that is a member of a church is free to lead their family according to Scripture unless there is sinfulness occurring in the home. That is one of the benefits of being part of the church -- accountability.

Ephesians 2:20-22 (NKJV) - "[H][aving been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit."
