Well, I can't think of a more central role than the role of a mother. When we think of the role of a father, we think of the role of leadership. But when we think of the role of a mother, we think of nurturing. We think of the daily activity of a mother who is with those children day in and day out, hour after hour. And she's serving, she's instructing, she's correcting.
She's helping connect dots from the scriptures to the daily things that those children are experiencing. And so she's hands-on from the morning to the evening. So it's Deuteronomy 6, 4 through 9. She's teaching as she goes, as she gets up, as she lays down. And through that she's nurturing.
But the central aspect of a mother, throughout the daily life of her children, she's impressing Christ on their souls. She's impressing Christ on their souls through all of the normal daily activities. And they're learning to fear God through just the daily things that they're doing. And they're learning to do everything to the glory of God. They're learning how to live under authority.
They're learning how to treat a mother. They're learning how to one day treat a wife or how a wife is to be treated. They're learning how to treat sisters and they're learning how to honor ladies. They're learning the role of young men in the home. There's so much that's being caught, even though it may not be explicitly taught through her ministry.
