The Church should address the declining birthrate by promoting the Biblical understanding of marriage, family, and children. What is marriage? What is a family? What is the purpose of children? Just as in Psalm 127, we read and it declares that children are a heritage of the Lord.
They are from the Lord. They are not from us. They are from the Lord. And so the church should celebrate that. The church should support those families in their decisions to have children.
And as the Lord blesses them with children, the church is supporting them, encouraging them. And so that may involve providing them with resources, encouraging them as parents, offering them helps, counseling when they are in need. Again, All their families, all their fathers and mothers can give ample help to those younger ones. We should emphasize, the churches should emphasize the significance of raising godly offsprings. We should foster a culture that values the sanctity of life, sanctity of marriage, the blessing of children.
That they are not a curse, they are the blessing of God. And additionally, the Church can engage in advocacy, in outreach efforts to encounter the societal pressures and policies that undermines the family unit. We should speak to the government as the prophet of God to the government as John the Baptist was. He declared, this is what the Lord says. And so the church should speak clearly and directly to politicians in support of the families, in support of marriage.
Fruitfulness isn't just about biological reproduction. It encompasses spiritual growth. It encompasses discipleship. It impacts future generations. Strong families contribute to a healthy society, a healthy church, passing on values, passing on the faith, passing on stability.
And there is hope in hard times. Jeremiah's message was given during a difficult period, yet God's purposes remained. And so families provided, they provide resilience, love, and a sense of belonging even in adversity. And the church can be a beacon of hope for them. It emphasizes eternal significance of family life for the glory of Christ.
