The starting point is to always get fixed on what the Word of God says. So that clears away a lot of the unhelpful things. It's just to get fixed. For instance, Psalm 127 says that children are a blessing and a reward. So the Christian just needs to orient ourselves to what God has revealed as being true.

Children aren't a drag and a hindrance and an obstacle to the good things that we ought to be chasing. Children actually are the good things that we should be chasing and the associated things. So once we are convinced that the word of God is true at every level, then texts like Psalm 127 teach that children are a blessing. We should want them. We should want more blessing, not less blessing.

Children are a reward. They're not an obstacle to the things we should be pursuing. Then it just helps us to understand what's next.
