Well, I would tell him omniscience is derived from two words. I think they're Latin words now that I think about it. Omni, all, and science, knowledge. So the fact that God is omniscient means, little Johnny, that God knows everything. And here's some important things to know about omniscience, Johnny.

One of the things is that the greatest thing about God's omniscience is that he knows himself. God's infinite and eternal, and yet God knows everything about himself. God is not in the process of finding out who he is. God knows who he is. He's always known who he is.

The other thing, Joni, is that you have to understand that God not only knows what is, God knows what will be. That's very important in our day to know that God knows not only what has happened in the past, everything, what is happening right now, everything, but he knows everything that's going to happen in the future. How can God know everything that happens in the future? Well, because he has planned everything that's going to happen in the future, and knowing his own plan, he's certain about what's going to happen in the future. And so, I think those are really important things to tell an eight-year-old about the omniscience of God I think it should influence his life in terms of the proverb that says The eyes of the Lord are in every place beholding the evil and the good So God knows everything you do giant.

It's not just that he knows what you do in front of your parents. He knows what you do behind their back and in your bedroom and when you're playing and wherever you are, God sees you and God knows exactly what you're doing and the eyes of the Lord are evaluating you in terms of his holy character. So I think one of the most important things to know of, for little Johnny to know, is that God knows him and everything he does, and the eyes of the Lord see him wherever he is.

How do you speak to an eight-year-old about omniscience?

Omniscience is derived from two words: omni (which means "all") and science (which means "knowledge"). The fact that God is omniscient means that God knows everything. Here are some important things to know about omniscience.

The greatest thing about God's omniscience is that it means God knows everything about Himself. He is infinite and eternal yet He knows who He is.

God knows what has happened in the past, what is happening now, and what will happen in the future. How does He know what will happen in the future? Because He has planned everything that is going to happen.

"The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good." (Proverbs 15:3) God knows everything that you do. Not only does He know what you do in front of your parents, but He knows what you do behind their back and in your bedroom and when you are playing. Wherever you are, God sees you and knows exactly what you are doing. God knows you and everything you do.

These are very important things to tell an eight-year-old about the omniscience of God.
