The pastors and elders of the churches need to be very clear that they are calling the people to do something that's going to cause them to swim against the stream of the culture, to live as faithful believers in a non-Christian society, it's no longer something that can be assumed. They have to be very clear in proclaiming the gospel and proclaiming the law of God, not just how to be saved, but how to live in a way that honors and pleases God. It's no longer, and hasn't been, safe to assume these things. They have to be very clear in instructing their people. And also being there to help and to navigate these issues.

So, counseling, not just one-on-one counseling, but even counseling from the pulpit and their exhortations. Like, this is how you obey these commands. And just really encouraging the people to set their focus on Christ. That their number one goal in all of life is to honor and glorify God. They cannot spend their days asking, am I going to be canceled for whatever strange view I have or am I going to be kicked out of my friend's circle because I want to homeschool or whatever other aspect of Christian living that they want to hold onto.

The shepherds have to actually lead the flock to know that you are going to live in a very different way compared to your neighbors. And that's okay. That's good because your goal is to honor God, not satisfy and please your unbelieving friends and family.
