How long would you wait in line if you knew you could see, just get a glimpse of Jesus? If He was somewhere in America or somewhere in the world, would you fly there, would you go there, Would you stop what you're doing just to go see him? And maybe you know you wouldn't get in the front of the line. Maybe you know you wouldn't shake his hand. You wouldn't necessarily get to talk to them, but you could just see them.
You could just put your eyes on them and see the Lord Jesus Christ physically with your eyes. Wouldn't that not be wonderful? Remember Thomas after the resurrection, he says, I'm not going to believe unless I see. I've got to see. I've got to see with my own eyes.
I need to see. If it's going to be real, if it's going to be real to me, I have to see, I have to have my physical eyeballs, look at the physical Christ, I need to see the holes in his hands. Of course, Jesus opens up his hands and says, look, You need to see, here you go. But then he said, blessed are thou, talking about you, who believe and have not physically seen. One of the things, I mean it's of the burning of the soul, okay what's burning in my soul, one of the things I realized that is so important for me, something I'm just now learning, I feel like I should have known this as a kid, how important it is to live the Christian life is for Christ and the things of God to be real.
Real to you. Real to me. It changes everything when it's not just something I know about or heard about but when it becomes reality to me. And you need Christ, you need the things of God, the truths of God to be real in your life and you won't live the victorious life if you don't believe these things are real. The problem with lukewarm preaching is because we don't believe in hell.
I mean hell is there but it's not real. Heaven's there but it's not real to us. But if you could see, if you could see the flames, if you could see your kids, if you could see these lost loved ones, if you could see them crying out on the day of judgment, woe is me! If you could see that, and that becomes real to your life it changes your prayers it changes your behavior it changes you and you don't have to physically see Jesus you don't have to physically see heaven and hell for it to be real to you how does the things of God the invisible things which Paul says that are more real more tangible more eternal than the things that can be seen now this is real, I believe it's real, I can touch it. It's real.
Physically it's real to me. And some people without faith says if I can't see it, If it's not true to my empirical senses, I don't believe it. Only thing that is real is what I can see and sense and touch and taste. Jesus says that's not the only way for things to be real. That's real by you.
This is by me. But you know, there's things that are by you right now. Physically by next to you. The proposition by. It's real by you.
It's next to you. But right now you're not even thinking about it. I mean you could be thinking about grandma and her cancer right now. You could be so grieved about something far a million miles away and that's more real to you right now because Grandma's in your thoughts, in your mind, but right next to you there's so many realities next to you, but you're not even conscious of them. So some things can be real to you in your mind.
That's real to you, real to you, even though it's not next to you or by you. You see faith, faith takes the things that are unseen. It gives evidence to the things that are not seen and brings them near, not physically near. You don't have to physically see Jesus for Jesus to be real. It's more than just being next to you or real to you mentally, as you could be thinking about someone you love, a girlfriend or boyfriend or something on your mind that you can't quit thinking about, that's real to you.
Faith makes Christ real in you. The Bible says, he dwells in our hearts by faith. To have Christ living in you is way more important than getting in line and traveling across the world to physically get a glimpse of the man Jesus Christ. You don't have to go anywhere. You don't have to travel anywhere.
Christ can come next to you. He can come to you. He can be with you. In fact, the Bible says He is with you. Do you believe that?
Do you live in the reality that you walk with Christ Jesus that he is in you? And if you could just see him, how can you see it? How could you look at that if you're by faith living in the presence of Jesus Christ how can you think those thoughts how could you not pray more and commune more and walk with God if by faith you're living in the presence of the Living God you and I more than anything else we need these realities to be so real that they're more real to us than the physical things we see. And That's how we'll be transformed. That's how we'll be changed.
That's how we'll live victorious. That's how we'll overcome the evil one. That's how we can be filled with the joy in the presence of God no matter what we're suffering and what we're going through because though we're going through these trials of life, there is a greater reality to us that's more real to us than whatever physical things that we see or experience. You realize that. This world blinds us.
The world's good and wonderful, but we begin so focused on seeing the things that can be seen that we forget to see the unseen Christ. I'll tell you the unseen Christ, the eternal realities of the world to come. Heaven is real. Hell is real. The angels are real.
The demons are real. Christ is real. The Holy Spirit is real. Are these things real to you? Do you see them?
Live in the presence of these realities? Faith. Faith. Walk by faith. Now let me end with how do I increase my faith?
I you mean maybe like me I believe I believe I Believe I see I get a glimpse. I see these eternal realities. I see them I Got a couple unconverted kids. I know there's a hell. I know there's a hell.
I pray for my kids because I know there's a hell and I know there's a heaven. But I also say I believe but I need help in my unbelief. I need more faith. This is the victory that overcomes the world. Faith.
Without faith it's impossible to please God. If you're gonna come to God you must believe that he is and that he's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. We need faith. We need to walk by faith, not by sight. We must go from faith to faith.
We need more and more faith so that these spiritual realities become more and more real to our soul. Give me more faith. How do I get more faith? Paul tells us. Faith doesn't come by spending your time on social media.
Faith doesn't come by watching television. Does it? Does it? Where does faith come from? I want faith.
Where do I get that? It comes from hearing, hearing, and hearing comes by the word of God. Give us ears to hear, dear God. Give us faith. Faith is a gift from the Lord.
Oh, may we see. And by seeing, may we believe. And by believing, may our lives be changed. Amen.
