Why Is Your Child Questioning Their Gender?
Oct. 7, 2020
David Fry explains in this video what a parent should do if their child is questioning whether there are more than two genders. One concern he shares is that if you child has these questions, they may be negatively influenced by the world. A parent ought to understand who and what is influencing your child and bring your child back to a biblical understanding of gender. John 17:17 (NKJV) - "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth."

Preparing Children for Marriage
Nov. 27, 2019
How can parents help to prepare their children for marriage? The best way to prepare children for marriage is to model a biblical marriage for them. We need to ask ourselves what example are we setting for our children? Do our children see us laying our lives down for our spouse? Ultimately, our children will be affected by our actions. We will fail at being a good parent. But that shouldn't stop us from trying. We should pray and ask God to help us to be a good spouse and parent to our children. Our children will learn much by observing our own lives. 2 Timothy 3:14-15 (NKJV) - "But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

The Laws of Love
Sep. 27, 2019
What is true, biblical love? Calvin Beisner explains in this video that Scripture defines what love is in Romans 13:10, that love is the fulfillment of the law. The degree that a person loves another is the degree that they are fulfilling God's law in relation to that person. Accordingly, individuals in a homosexual marriage are not experiencing true, biblical love because they are violating God's law. Love is not a feeling, it is obeying God's law in relation to another person. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NKJV) - "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

Teaching Your Children About Law and Grace
Jul. 26, 2019
Can you teach the law without grace? Calvin Beisner explains in this video that .communicating grace to your children is the most important thing you can do. You cannot communicate grace without teaching the law. They always have to go together. They are taught this way in Scripture. We teach our children the law and we also must teach them grace. We should be quick to confess our sin and to ask for their forgiveness. He shares that when he raised his children, he probably erred on the side of too much sternness with his children. He wishes that he showed more gentleness and grace. You thank God John 1:17 (NKJV) - "For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."

How Christ Fulfilled the Law
Oct. 27, 2018
Through his obedience to God Christ does the two things that sinners need to have done for them if they are to be saved. By His passive obedience, His sufferings make satisfaction to God’s justice for our sins. By His active obedience to the law, loving God above all and His neighbors as Himself, Christ has merited for us the right to eternal life. This double obedience is imputed to us and our sins are imputed to Christ when we believe on Him alone for salvation.

Laws of Love - (Deut. 1-21; Mk. 11-14)
Mar. 8, 2018
Hello, Mala Chindongo in Malawi! Good to see you. Good to see you, Scott. So, we are a long way from each other but it's nice to be able to do this. I know you don't always have power down there in Malawi but you've got it now so I'm really, really thankful for that. We're going to talk about Deuteronomy 1-20. And we're also going to talk about Mark 11-14. These are two glorious sections. Well, I want to start in Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy is composed of three sermons that Moses delivered in the very last month of his life. In fact, the very last day of his life is recorded in Chapter 31. And so these features -- you know, they roll on full of the shadows of the glory of the Gospel -- the recognition that perfect obedience is required. And it's really only satisfied by Jesus Christ. You're going to read -- well, in the next section there's a song. Moses taught the children of Israel a song. Now, I want to say a couple things about Deuteronomy in terms of the laws. There are dozens and dozens of laws. And here's the problem: when people read the laws, they often think that God is harsh. Here's an interpretive framework that you should always use to read Deuteronomy. If you'd read a law that seems harsh or unjust or unloving, remember this: those laws were wholly just and good laws. Apostle Paul calls them that with those exact words. And when we look at a law of God and we think that it's unjust or unloving, the reason we do is because of our own corrupt hearts. We don't know love. We don't know justice. We have to be taught it from an external source -- the Word of God. So these laws are all laws of love. And the apostle Paul makes this very clear in Galatians Chapter 5 Verse 14. He says, "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'" So, all these laws are laws of love that just should be put down as a principle. Any thoughts about that Mala? Yes. If you read the Old Testament, that's what you see -- the Law. God doesn't want us to do these do's and don'ts. That's what a lot of people see. But Deuteronomy helps us to see a completely different picture. There are many different passages of books of the Old Testament that helps us to see the difference. In Deuteronomy, you can see that God is going after the hearts. He's leading the people's hearts. And so, you see that in Chapter 4. You see God as He is speaking, addressing the children of Israel. He's

The Curtain Woven and the Curtain Torn - (Ex. 20-40 | Mat. 24-27)
Mar. 8, 2018
Paul White! How are you doing? I'm very good. Very good. Blessed. Good! So good to see you. I see that yoke of oxen behind you. You know I'm just thinking about, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me." That's it! Hey, so we get to discuss Exodus 20-40. That's a big rope to pull in. It is. And then Matthew 24 to 27. So, we have this great privilege of starting in Exodus 20 when the Ten Commandments show up. Right. Every law of God is a law of love and then you know, Moses goes through and gives a number of case laws that cover lots of issues and we get to Chapter 25. We hit the tabernacle. Yes. The rest of it is just outfitting the Tabernacle for the worship of God on what all that means. So there's there's just a maximum of elements of imagery that help us understand Jesus in the tabernacle anyway. So that's the deal. Here's just a comment to make about Exodus. In Exodus, it's really interesting. Redemption comes before the giving of the law. Correct. Of course, the whole theme of Exodus is deliverance. That God delivers His people from the bondage of that abusive traitor to God -- Pharaoh, you know. And this makes me think of just what a traitor he is. How you get no rest. You get no help. All you get is abuse from the devil and that's all the children of Israel ever got. But they got delivered. Yes sir. When I read the Exodus, I try to always keep in my mind that almost perfect split half and half. And so when we hit Chapter 20 like you said, we're seeing the people come out of that bondage which Scripture testifies is a picture of salvation. So, we come out of the bondage and immediately the people of God are brought into His presence. They receive the law. Like you said, the law of love, the glorious, perfect law of God are then taught to a people. This is what it looks like to be the people of God, called into his presence, given his commands, outfitted for worship. I mean, I would imagine a large number of this group were probably just as idolatrous as they were in Egypt. Outwardly, they were told several times to get rid of their household gods and things like that. They needed conformity to God. And within that group, obviously, there were the true believers, the God-fearing Jews. But, I'm just reminded of that picture. When a person is redeemed, immediately brought into the presence of God, the law of God put in the heart, made a part of a p

Characteristics of False Repentance
Jan. 26, 2018
What are characteristics of false repentance? Carlton McCleod explains in this video that it is often difficult to determine whether where a person is demonstrating true or false repentance from one encounter. False repentance springs up quickly and is accompanied by emotion but there is no life to it beyond the moment. Simply because an individual is emotional and there are tears doesn’t necessarily mean that he is truly repentant. False repentance springs up quickly and is very quickly taken away by worldly concerns. We must walk with people for awhile to fully ascertain whether they are truly repentant. It is easy for someone to apologize for something but later do the same thing later that day.  1 John 3:9 (NKJV) - "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God."

Grace for Dead Dogs
Nov. 2, 2017
Do you know the grace of God? Have you experienced his grace? God's grace toward his people is so overwhelming it can be hard to fully grasp. Thankfully God has provided many illustrations of his amazing grace throughout scripture. The story of David and Mephibosheth (2 Samuel 9) is an illustration of the seeking, saving, and satisfying grace of God extended to the most unworthy.

His Hands Are Stretched Out Still
Oct. 26, 2017
In this video, Scott Brown provides some final thoughts on the topic of repentance at the National Conference. God is calling you to turn away from sin and to turn towards Him. There is true refreshment for repentant people. God's hands are "stretched out still" as Isaiah 5:25 states. Acts 2:38 (NKJV) - "Then Peter said to them, 'Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"

Sin
Oct. 26, 2017
Jesus Christ and his apostles called people to repentance as the only pathway into God’s kingdom. However, today few consider the call to repent, or understand what it demands of them. Repentance is more than a feeling or change of behavior; it engages the whole person to turn from sin to God. Without repenting, we are neither permitted nor fit to enter heaven. With repentance, our lives bear all kinds of practical and beautiful fruit. For repentance springs from a supernatural work of God whereby he gives a new heart to a sinner. One sin is enough to separate us from the perfectly good God who made us. Every sin, then, is a scandalous sin. There are no acceptable sins.

The Godly Man's Life of Repentance
Oct. 26, 2017
Reformation is, in essence, a turning to God from the path of error and sin. If you are a Christian, then your daily longing is that you would be conforming more to the likeness of your Savior. In this, we experience pain, tears, self-denial, persecution, yet joy, peace, and heaven's power. Throughout the history of the people of God from the beginning, they have wrestled with the world, the flesh, and the devil. This ought to humble us. Do you not feel often weak and wrestling with the same issues? Do you not experience some form of persecution and mocking by the ungodly world? We want to learn God's teaching on these, which will by His grace help us bear the multifaceted fruit of a repentant life.
