Dominion Mandate
May. 22, 2021
The family is established in immediate relationship to the cultural mandate (Gen. 1:28). The cultural mandate cannot be fulfilled without the assumption of familial duties. In the fall of mankind, the enemy struck a blow that impacted both the cultural mandate and the family. Our first parents doubted God's blessing and the goodness of His design. Our sin resulted in a curse that touches upon work, childbearing, and family relationships. But, the second Adam, the seed of the woman, has come and in Him, all the families of the earth shall be blessed. He redeems sinners and sanctifies them to engage family responsibilities by faith, and in so doing fills the earth with His image and glory.

The Dominion Mandate
Mar. 14, 2022
In Genesis 1, God creates male and female in His image and commands them to be fruitful and multiple. They are told to fill the earth and take dominion. In Genesis 2, Adam is told to work the garden and we see that it is not good for him to be alone. He needs a helper suitable to him so that they can care for the garden that God has planted. They are to spread the image of God through the whole earth which is quite difficult because of their fall. In Genesis 3, that curse addresses man and the work he is given to do. It also addresses woman and the work she is given to do.

The Jurisdiction of the Family
Oct. 30, 2020
The sermon titled 'The Jurisdiction of the Family' explores the importance of the family as a temporal institution and its role in spreading the gospel. The speaker discusses how the family has been under attack in various aspects of society, including education, entertainment, and medical establishments. Biblical order is emphasized, with husbands being the heads of their wives, wives submitting to their husbands, and parents raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. The sermon highlights the priority of Christ's spiritual family over flesh and blood families, while acknowledging the importance of earthly families. It urges the church to maintain the proper balance between family and worshiping God.

God Does Not Fly Off the Handle
Apr. 15, 2022
This is a remarkable attribute because it finds no expression in the creature. We may grow taller and go from happy to sad, but it is not this way with God. This means that we do not have to worry that God will "wake up" tomorrow and be different. As fleeting as our own emotions are and shifting as our own lives are, it brings great comfort to our families to realize that God is the same.

With You At All Times
Feb. 8, 2022
God is omnipresent. He is at all places at all times. You cannot escape Him. He is everywhere in the totality of His being. This brings us great comfort in knowing that wherever we go, God is with us. "Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You." - Psalm 139:7-12

Creating a God in Your Image
May. 2, 2022
R. C. Sproul wrote a great book on this. In the book of Isaiah we hear angelic beings crying out, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty. The whole earth is full of His glory." God is not like us. We hear in the scriptures God say, "You thought I was altogether like you." This is a great mistake that is being made all around us in society. We are beginning to worship the creature rather than the Creator. The temptation upon the Christian church and even our children is to create God in our image instead of recognizing that He is holy and set apart.

When the Knowledge of God Disappears, Worship Continues
Feb. 24, 2022
Just because the knowledge of God disappears from a nation does not mean that worship stops. In Romans 1, we see that man turns from worshipping the Creator to worshipping the creature. People will fashion an idol and continue to worship. This is a scary thing to consider. It is evidenced in the Old Testament and warned against in the New Testament. If you forget the one true God, you won't become an atheist. You will simply be worshipping something else.

He Knows What's Going on in Your Mind
Mar. 30, 2022
God's omniscience is the truth that God knows all things. There is not a single thing that is that God does not know. He has a perfect knowledge of what is going on inside of us. I cannot understand the things that are in your mind and you cannot understand the things that are in my mind. The only way that I will know what is in your mind is if you tell me with words. It is not that way with God. He knows us inside and out. He knows how many hairs are on your head. He knows the temperature in China right now. And He knows everything that is going on in the entire world. This is such a comforting thought! We have a very small knowledge. Even after your whole life, you will only understand a very few things about this world, but God knows everything.
