Explaining to A Child that Christ Died For Our Sins
Apr. 27, 2022
It is very common for us to tell our children that Jesus Christ died for our sins. The problem is that we are not explaining the background. In many ways it becomes non-sensical or they believe that He died for their sins, but they really do not understand how the death of one person on a tree can pay for the sins of the world. So whenever we are talking about the gospel, we must set the context or the parameters. God is many things: He is holy, He is just, He is merciful, He is compassionate. But all of these attributes exist in God in perfect harmony. This presents a problem: man has sinned and the justice of God demands that that man be punished, but the compassion of God demands that that man be saved.

What is Demonic Faith?
Feb. 4, 2022
James 2:19 "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!" Even the demons believe. Then what is Biblical, saving faith? James is not primarily pointing out that the content of demonic faith is fundamentally different than the content of saving faith. The demons believe in God and tremble. They know Him in His judgment. The difference is not that one impacts you and one does not. The primary difference is that the demons do not view the eternal triune God through the beauty of the Redeemer. Redemption is not for them. They view God and they hate Him. They do not long for and desire peace with God. Saving faith views God through the redemptive labors of Jesus Christ. This love crashes through every wall between us and our Creator.

Build, Dwell, Plant - Jeremiah 29
Aug. 9, 2021
What should you do when tyrants are in control? In this encouraging message, Scott Brown examines Jeremiah 29:1-14, encouraging those living in exile to “Build, Dwell, Plant.” In other words, don’t waste your exile pining away. Don’t waste your exile getting caught up in distractions, move forward, be productive, do the powerful things, and don’t be frustrated. Don’t let the bad guys get you down. Get your wife at the table and design your home. Settle down. Stay put. Plant crops. Be self-sufficient. Plan weddings. Have babies. Make your house a house of prayer. Be a force of peace in your community.

Our Pre-Born Neighbors
Oct. 26, 2019
As our culture has embraced the culture of death, how should Christians respond? With such a tragic reality, is it enough to simply pray, or is there more Christians ought to be doing? What is the role of the Church in responding to the killing of babies in abortion mills?

Is There Any Hope?
Aug. 26, 2019
What do we do when we feel like there is no hope for the next generation? Anthony Mathenia explains in this video that when we read the latest headlines, it can be easy to feel hopeless with regard to the next generation. Yet, there can be immense hope for the next generation. We know that the Gospel can save even the worst of sinners. We know that the Gospel can change the hearts of people. There is every reason to hope. Christ and His blood is sufficient to forgive all sin. God can restore the years that the locusts have eaten. Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) - "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

Malachi - Fathers Hearts Turning Toward Home
Jun. 28, 2018
Malachi - Fathers Hearts Turning Towards Home by Jason Young. Have you felt like you didn't fit in growing up? Have you wondered how to grow deep, meaningful relationships? Do you not understand where you stand or where you fit? 1. What does the book of Malachi teach us? There was a people that forgot God's love. What way has God loved me? 2. Do you think we have a problem with leadership in this day? Leaders are devaluing Christ and His authority. Are we offering defective sacrifices? Worship that is "good enough" is not good enough for God. 3. We are losing our children because we have offered the refuse of the sacrifices. God brings judgment. (2:7) You picked and chose what you would teach your family and you are judged for this with the cutting off of the seed. 4. Are we robbing God of tithes and offerings? Do we sit in the pews every Sunday and worship stuff over the things of God?

The Love of God for Every Tongue, Tribe, and Nation
Apr. 13, 2018
The Great Commission given by Christ to the church is a command to go into all the world and make disciples from every nation. This global vision of God's redeeming love for people from every tribe, tongue, and nation is beautifully pictured in the vision of an ever increasing and life-giving stream in Ezekiel 47. This symbol is given to us to see the effect of the love of God on all people as they are brought to repentant faith in Jesus Christ; his love heals and brings life to everything it touches!

How Local Churches Prepare the Next Generation for Missions
Apr. 13, 2018
The church's mission to make disciple's of all nations is an endevour which has already lasted 2000 years and is not yet complete. With this in mind we should see that the Great Commission is a multigenerational undertaking which will continue until the Lord returns. Therefore, churches need to focus not only on doing missions work and sending missionaries, but also raising and preparing the next generation for that missionary work of taking the gospel to the unreached.

Preach the Gospel Every Day
Nov. 10, 2017
The world needs the gospel. We are commanded by Christ to make the gospel known. While many believers are deligient about giving to missions and to supporting the work of evangelism we often neglect the personal, day to day opportunities to proclaim Christ. What would happen if we made it a point to try to evangelize one person every day?

Bondage to Freedom - Exodus
Aug. 3, 2017
Exodus displays the primary biblical imagery for deliverance from bondage. Someone once said that when God wants to change history, he does not start with a battle, he starts with a baby. The book of Exodus opens with a people in bondage and the birth of a baby - Moses.  Exodus declares the doctrines of enslavement, deliverance, judgment, revelation, law, worship, Sabbath, and covenant. The Exodus is the premier symbol of redemption in the Old Testament as the cross is the symbol in the New Testament. Exodus presents the gospel before the law and the Passover tells of the efficacy of the shedding of blood. The book of Exodus centers around three main events and locations: the Passover in Egypt, the crossing through the Red Sea in the wilderness, and the giving of the law on Mount Sinai.

Teach Us to Pray
Jun. 13, 2017
In this video, Paul Washer speaks from Matthew 6. Interestingly, His disciples never asked Him, "Teach us to preach" or "Teach us to walk on the water." Instead, they asked him how to pray. No one prayed as Christ did. It is truly an amazing privilege to be able to pray and we have much to learn from what Christ said regarding prayer. Luke 11:1 (NKJV) - "Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
