How Can You Call Christians Holy
Mar. 10, 2022
We are morally separated because we have been morally separated unto God in the work of our rescue. Salvation is when God takes us out of that common element of Adam's family and places us spiritually in a union with His Son. We are in Christ. His reality is the environment in which we live and we have been spiritually placed in Him. Being in Christ means we are separated from certain things and to a person. It begins to show in what we desire when we wake up in the morning. Everything is being altered, not by a list of rules, but by a new identity. Rules are there, but it is much deeper than that. I am His.

Three Facets of God's Holiness
Mar. 7, 2022
He is completely separated from all creation. He is in a category all by Himself. There are no other gods. There is nothing else worthy of worship. God is supremely holy. Isaiah 40:20 We are image bearers of God, but it is faint shadow. God cannot be the author of any sin. God and sin are totally antithetical. In the holiness of God, you have absolute purity and that means that God can only allow us into fellowship with Him if someone could satisfy God's holy justice on our behalf. That someone would have to be as perfect as God, have obeyed the law perfectly, and pay for my sins with His own death. That someone can only be Jesus Christ. If man is ever to be saved, God's holiness requires a total substitute. In His Holy Spirit entering into us, we are made holy even as He is holy. It is partial in this life, but perfect in the next.

The Master Attribute of God
Mar. 1, 2022
The attribute of God that we think of first is usually holiness. Holiness means other, distinct, separate. It is a master attribute of God in that all of His other attributes exist in conjunction with this attribute. God is holy in His love. He is holy in His mercy. He is holy in His justice. He is distinct and not like us in any of these things. He is holy, holy, holy.

What is the Opposite of Glory?
Feb. 10, 2022
Shame is the opposite of glory. Shame is the exposure of one's actual, internal defilement. When we are shamed, someone exposes our sinfulness and defiled character. Glory is the outward manifestation of inward excellence. God's glory is when His excellence is revealed. God's glory is the outward manifestation of His inward excellence.

Perseverance and Faith
May. 23, 2021
In this video message, Carlton McLeod discusses the verses in Matthew 15:21-28 about the topic of perseverance. The woman in this chapter sought help for her daughter who was possessed by a devil. Despite challenging circumstances, she was determined to find healing. Similar to this woman, we must persist in holiness and godliness and be slow to become weary in doing good when things get difficult. We live in times where there is a great falling away. The response to difficult circumstances or even persecution is not to buckle under the pressure but to hold firm to the Truth. James 1:12 (NKJV) - "Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."

What Are You Doing With Your Life?
May. 19, 2021
What are you doing with your life? In this video, Paul Washer states that you are living for something -- the question is, what are you living for? Are you living your life for Christ or are you pursuing worthless endeavors? What is driving you to live the way you do? To live for Christ, you must be desperate -- you must realize that something must change. You cannot be satisfied with living in sin and worldliness. A desperation for Christ and His ways must drive your live. 2 Timothy 2:15-16 (NKJV) - "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness."

Discipline Brings Forth Righteousness
Dec. 30, 2020
Mike Davenport explains in this video that Scripture makes it clear that discipline is healthy and biblical. In fact, God chastens all of His children and does not spare us from it. If God does not discipline us, it is because we are not sons of His. Discipline, though it may not be sweet to the recipient, is ultimately an act of love and kindness. Hebrews 12:11 (NKJV) - "Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it."

Don't Fear Your Children's Questions
Dec. 10, 2020
Kirk Smith explains in this video that there may be times where children struggle with their faith. As they gradually go out into the real world, they will come across people who believe differently. When our children have questions, parents should walk by faith and not by fear. As our children ask these questions, we can point theme back to Christ. Doubt and struggles are a normal part of life. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) - "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Faithfulness in Child Raising
Dec. 8, 2020
John Snyder explains in this video why it is important for parents have biblical expectations for their children. Hudson Taylor, for instance, had godly parents who raised him and everything that he did was impacted by his godly upbringing. Parents are called to be faithful to raise their children in the way that God commands. Even if your children don't ultimately walk with the Lord after they leave the home, you are still commanded to train them according to Scripture. Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) - "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

The Steadfastness of Scripture
Dec. 3, 2020
Paul Carrington explains in this video that even though countless individuals have attempted to discredit or even destroy Scripture, God's Word still stands as true. Throughout centuries, it has remained just as relevant and applicable to us today as it was thousands of years ago. 1 Peter 1:24-25 (NKJV) - "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

Do You Find Church Boring?
Nov. 27, 2020
Paul White explains in this video that families need to focus their attention on Christ and see Him as a great treasure in all of life. If they do this, there will be fewer distractions and a greater desire to learn more about the things of God. Time spent studying God's Word, fellowshipping with fellow believers, and in prayer is certainly not wasted time. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) - "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
