Cary Green

Cary Green grew up in a loose Catholic home near Lake Tapps, Washington. While attending Western Washington University, he got saved, by the grace of God! Even as a new believer he knew God was calling him to the ministry, so after college he attended The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California. While there, he met his wife, Lois, and a year after graduating, he and his family left for nearly ten years of ministry in East Berlin. During those years they helped to plant a church (Bible Church of Berlin) and establish a Bible school (European Bible Training Center), both of which are still going strong today. The LORD moved the Green family back to the USA in 2009, where Cary again became involved in planting a church–originally called Everett Bible Church, now Cornerstone Bible Church. It is his joy and privilege to pastor this congregation. Cary and Lois have fourteen children.

Men of Honor
Oct. 2, 2019
God's people are called to holiness in all areas of life, and today we must constantly be reminded that men of God are called to a high level of moral purity in their sexuality. Among God's people, the goal is to have not even a hint of sexual impropriety. Sadly, this standard is rarely lived up to because the culture around us is inundated with sexual immorality and the tidal wave is pushing against Christians every day. Christian men need to turn to Christ and focus on him and rely on his grace for the strength to fight for moral purity every day.

How Were People in the Old Testament Saved?
Jan. 29, 2019
How were people in the Old Testament saved? Cary Green explains in this video that salvation in the Old Testament was accomplished in the same way that it occurred in the New Testament -- by grace alone, through faith alone, through Christ alone.  They knew that there was a coming Messiah. Paul talks about Abraham in Romans 4. Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.  Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) - "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

The Missing Link in Biblical Counseling
Oct. 26, 2017
Every Biblical counselor has invested hours of time and prayer into a counselee, only to have his or her life remain unchanged. Even worse, many times initial progress is made, but then the counselee slips right back into the old sinful habits. What went wrong? Whether dealing with a believer or an unbeliever, true change is inextricably linked to true repentance. The problem is that often what passes as “repentance” is not at all what the Bible describes. In 2 Corinthians 7 Paul lays out the differences between the world’s repentance and Biblical repentance and we must learn this distinction if we are to be effective counselors.

Manhood and Womanhood
Oct. 2, 2019
When it comes to the biblical view of the nature and roles of men and women, there are two basic camps: egalitarians and complementarians. Both positions teach that man and woman are created equal in worth and dignity as creatures made in the image of God. However, egalitarians take that principle and conclude that therefore there is no distinction in role or hierarchy between the sexes in society, family, or the church. Complementarians, however, see that scripture lays out distinct roles for the sexes from creation and those roles are good and wise God-given gifts to help his creatures flourish.

Merciful and Faithful High Priest
Dec. 14, 2018
How is Christ our merciful and faithful High Priest? Cary Green notes in this video that the author of Hebrews explains how Christ was made like us in all things. He is our compassionate High Priest. Unless Christ was 100% God and 100% man, He could not truly sympathize with us as humans.  Hebrews 4:15 (NKJV) - "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin."

Salvation: There Is No Other Way
Oct. 8, 2018
Are there multiple ways to be saved? Cary Green explains in this video that Christ is the door. There is no other way that people can be saved. He is the only way to God and there is no other way in. Acts 4:12 states that "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." In short, there is no man-made religion or ideas that can grant us salvation. However, many unsaved people tend to see God how they want to see Him. There is no other way to salvation.  John 14:5-6 (NKJV) – “Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”

Christ as the "Bread of Life"
Nov. 21, 2018
What does it mean when Christ says that He is the "Bread of Life?" Cary Green explains in this video that when Christ says that He is the Bread of Life, He is saying that He is the source of all of our physical needs. This is one of seven “I am” statements in the Gospel of John. He is declaring that He is God.  Not only do we have a physical need for daily sustenance for bread and water, but we need God Himself. So, when He says that He is the Bread of Life, He is saying that He is the source of all life, both physical and spiritual. John 6:35 (NKJV) – “And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”

We Try to Justify Ourselves by Our Efforts
Jan. 4, 2019
Is there anything we can do to justify ourselves by our own efforts? Cary Green explains in this video that when Adam and Eve sinned, there was a great divide between God and man. God did promise a coming Messiah who would fix the sin problem. There was nothing that Adam and Eve could do.  Christ had to be our mediator -- we couldn't do it ourselves. Adam and Eve could not do it and we cannot either. God sent His Son at the appropriate time.  John 3:16 (NKJV) - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Christ Is Our "Good Shepherd"
Sep. 10, 2018
How is Christ our "Good Shepherd?" Cary Green explains in this video that Christ is our "Good Shepherd." He is our God-appointed shepherd to lead us in the right way. When we look at this analogy, if Christ is the shepherd, we are the sheep. Sheep are followers and they lack natural defenses. The fact is that when God continually likens us like sheep, we should really take that analogy to heart. There is no better shepherd than Christ Himself. He truly is our “Good Shepherd” Isaiah 40:11 (NKJV) – “He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young.”

Christ as the Light of the World
Oct. 31, 2018
What does it mean when Christ says that He is the light of the world? Cary Green explains in this video that when Jesus said that He is the light of the world, it is important to remember that not only did God create light, He is the light, He is the source of light. When we look at the New Jerusalem that is described in Revelation, the city has no need for the sun or moon because the glory of God has illuminated it and its lamp is the Lamb. There is not a greater statement of deity that can be made. He is the clearest spiritual light that God has ever given the world.   John 8:12 (NKJV) – “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.’”
